For some, winter means curling up on a couch with a blanket and watching it drizzle outside. For the New Covent Garden Soup Swimmers, it means warming up with a delicious bowl of soup and heading down to their local pond for a freezing dip, even if it means cracking the ice to get in!
This gutsy group of women are the embodiment of ‘Soup Up’, our rallying cry to get up, get out there to enjoy winter and all its wonder. It doesn’t have to be a cold swim; it could be muddy walks in wellies or simply heading down to the park on a frosty morning. It’s just a different side to winter, for the days when the couch just won’t cut it.
We teamed up with Ross Edgley who became the first person to swim around the whole of the UK, he is the embodiment of Soup Up and loves Wild Swimming. He talks to us about how we can get out there, enjoy the great outdoors no matter what the weather - it doesn’t have to be a cold swim; it could be walking or starting to run. New Covent Garden Soup is a winner for Ross, something he eats regularly due to it’s nutritious benefits and how it boosts his soul.
